Satellite TV is a program that lets you watch TV on your PC. It´s also capable of playing radio stations. The channels and stations are supposed to broadcast over the Internet, since the program receives the streaming from it. It doesn´t use any other hardware than your sound card, monitor and speakers. You don´t need to have a tuner card. You´re going, then, to be limited to the channels and stations that are available on the Internet. The main advantage of this is that you will be able to get streams from any country in the world, without interferences, free of charge. Except for the program´s cost, of course. As the different channels and stations use different programs to broadcast its content (as RealPlayer, QuickTime, Windows Media Player, etc.) you will need to have those plug-ins installed in order to watch the channels. Satellite TV for PC allows you to record audio and video from the programs you´re watching to your hard disk. This way you can save those programs to keep or watch them later. |
